Happy 4th Birthday C-Man

*As I was getting on to write up a new post – you know from my 2 month hiatus- I realized I never hit “publish” for Carter’s birthday post. Oops! *

Yesterday was Carter’s 4th birthday. He had been looking forward to his birthday because “4 year olds are big boys and not babies anymore.” I’m not sure where he got that info, probably Evan.

Happy birthday little man! You are such a blessing to everyone who meets you! You have such a tender and sweet heart. Your enthusiasm toward life is contagious. I love watching you interact with others, whether they are your friends or those you just meet! Everyone you meet becomes your “friend” immediately! You are thoughtful and caring!

You are my little artist. The one who thinks outside the box (just like your daddy, I guess). You love and adore your big brother and will defend him no matter what! When he gets in trouble for picking on you, you always come to his rescue and try to talk us out of his punishment. Most of the time, you sit in time out with him just to be with him.

You wake up each morning and before you start your day, you find me and give me the biggest hug and smile. You love your mama! And that makes my heart leap.

You still love to be the comedian! Although, it must be on your terms. If I try to get you to perform you shy up and hide. But when the urge hits you will entertain for hours.

You are my little man and you no longer want me to call you my “Carter C” beause that’s a baby’s name and you want me to call you “Carter Big Boy”. I am having a hard time with that one. Carter, even when you are as big as your daddy, you will ALWAYS be my baby boy! So if I let it slip once in awhile, please forgive me and be patient. You are growing and becoming more independent each day and although I am excited to see how God is shaping your life, I am a little sad that I am losing my “baby”.

We love you little man! You are truly a blessing to this family and as I tell you each and every day, “God knew that this family needed a Carter C.” And I am thankful that he chose us to be your family!
