Thanks for stopping by! Did you know I am a Chuggington Conductor, which means I keep you up to date on all things Chuggington and host some pretty cool Chuggington Giveaways. First time here? Go check out the latest giveaways.
As a Chuggington Conductor, I was sent a goodie box with items in it to throw a movie play date for my kiddos. It included fun items such as a DVD, conductor hats, coloring pages, crayons and popcorn. I do love to throw a good play date party, so my wheels started turning on how I would decorate for such a fun activity! Today’s post is just the prep work. Come back tomorrow to see the actual fun of the afternoon!
I first decided that I wanted to do the color scheme in Chuggington Blue and Gold (from the logo), Koko green, Brewster Blue and Wilson Red. Unfortunately Chuggington doesn’t have party supplies yet, but I was up for the challenge on being creative. Fortunately those colors are pretty basic colors that you can purchase at any party supply store.
Since it was a movie date for the kiddos, I thought it would be fun to incorporate snack goodies that you typically get at the movie theater. Popcorn of course, but also candy, candy and more candy
! I was excited to notice that M&Ms matched perfectly as well as Twizzlers (Swedish Fish would work well also)! So I started to devise a plan to work the candy into the decor! And to bring in some green, I made white chocolate covered pretzel sticks dusted with green sugar.
And I was SUPER excited to randomly find some Popcorn bags at the Dollar Tree (10 for a buck!!) which matched perfectly with the red and white!
And if you know anything about me, you know I always love to make a cake for the fun of it
! But with the craziness of mine and Jeremy’s schedule lately, I thought it would be fun to do cupcakes instead of a cake, and much less stressful. Although Evan gave me several ideas of a Wilson Cake, A Round House cake or one massive cake with all the characters on it, in 3D of course. He didn’t win out this time – ha! The Chuggington Logo (navy and gold) was what I had in mind when making these cute lil’ things.
A crafty friend of mine, Maria, posted a link last week that caught my attention: a banner she was making for a birthday party. I immediately wanted to do this for our Chuggington party! I originally scoured some local craft stores to find of cute, geometrical shaped patterns of cloth to make a personalized banner. But I didn’t really have much luck – due to lack of time and patience. But the more I thought about it, I realized, “hey I can print some out using the characters, oh and Jeremy DOES do these types of things for a living
”. So I asked him to whip me up a banner triangles. He delivered as he usually does! I then attached the triangles to gold string. Evan liked it so much, he asked if I could hang up the banner in his room!
The goodie bags went along the same line. We printed out a picture from Chuggington’s website and glued it to different colored bags. We then found a generic ticket picture and added the Chuggington Logo to it and the child’s name! (If you would like to have a printable copy click HERE.) The kids LOVED finding their bag with their name on it!
I have to say that I was pleased with the final product!
* Disclosure: This post was written as part of the Chuggington Conductor campaign, which I am proud to be a part of! I was provided with some tools from Chuggington to help facilitate my review, but the post and all opinions in them are purely my own and my kiddo’s.
And what a fine party it was!
